the wn store

i am writing this on the eve of the reopening of the store, with a mixture of excitement and a few nerves as we make the final preparations to throw the doors open in the morning and welcome you all back.

i am so proud and happy to share what we have spent the past year creating, having only managed a total of three weeks of trading at the end of last year this does really feel like the launch of the wn store and the realisation of a long-held dream to showcase a more gentle, relaxed and comfortable way to live and dress our homes.

living through the past year with all its restrictions has I think for many of us has allowed time for reflection and a little shift perhaps in our priorities. we may all have got to know our closest loved ones and our homes a little better and valued and loved them a little more than before, this is a real positive to take from such a challenging time.

i personally hope to carry these lessons with me and keep those relationships with my friends, and my family as well as with my home, close and special and continue to nurture them all.

i know this will take time and that can be hard to find, but so very rewarding when we do. time for a coffee, time for a phone call, even for me finding time to care and clean for my home and garden has been positive and helped me to feel placed and connected.

i really hope that some of this sense of time and care will come through when you visit us at the store and that we have created a space to feel relaxed and inspired in and allows you to take your time to just look, and make considered choices towards pieces and items that you really love and will enjoy using in your life.

on the wall in the store are a few words which have been really important to me and that i hope to capture the spirit of what we are trying to achieve.

‘we think that shopping has changed a little bit and that it’s nice to understand a little more about what you are spending your money on, perhaps know a little bit more about the maker, or the company behind the product. so we try and show you things that are more gentle in the way they have been made, perhaps produced a little closer to home, or even ready to be loved for a second time. things that are chosen with care, firstly by us and then by you.’
